Unix/EDI/RDBMS Systems Support ~ B-Shift Support (3:30-12/Midnight, M-F)Provision of production management and application administration services in support of enterprise business applications.This responsibility covers direct support of the Informatica v.8 tools and could include supporting the Oracle databases itself. This includes but is not necessarily limited to backup, recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, coordinating changes to production databases, and problem resolution.It may also include capacity planning, software version control, implementation, space allocation and management, migration, performance monitoring and tuning, problem resolution. These services are extended to the Informatica product sets, the EDI Application Sets, and the approved system data delivery and monitoring solutions.In this role, you will: 1. Provide production support for multiple Informatica databases ranging in size from 100GB to multiple terabytes of data. In this position you will join a team of approximately 5 -10 DBAs responsible for ensuring corporate Datawarehouse availability on a 24x7 basis. You may also be responsible for providing monitoring and troubleshooting support for the EDI system. 2. Monitor the execution of Data Transport job streams, both Informatica and EDI. Recognize abnormal performance or completion events. Diagnose, resolve, or escalate identified problems related to Informatica PowerCenter v.8, and Oracle, running in either a Windows or Unix environment; EDI components including Messageway and Axway running in a Unix environment, per established Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements. Solve a variety of production issues related to Informatica PowerCenter v.8, Messageway and Axway. 3. Document End-of-Shift Status (accomplishments or completions, and outstanding or pending jobs or issues) for in-coming staff.4. Utilize Informatica PowerCenter v.8 (Workflow Monitor, Workflow Manager, Workflow Designer, Repository Manager, and Repository Server Administration Console) to schedule and control workflows, import/update mappings and tasks, and security. 5. Utilize and configure automated monitoring solutions for service areas in order to minimize downtime and reduce manual efforts. Install and configure appropriate Workstation software running under Windows 2000.6. Provide technical and operational support for remote applications to meet client service level requirements. This includes but is not necessarily limited to backup, recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, and coordinating changes to production databases. It may also include capacity planning, software version control, implementation, space allocation and management, migration, standards identification and compliance, fault tolerance planning, new product/release evaluation and support. As well as, maintaining the physical data environment of the production Datawarehouse.7. Implement Datawarehouse schema and appropriate indexing techniques (bit map, B-tree, hashed, and others) and making necessary adjustments to the evolving data structures and implementing security features (views, user profiles, roles and grants). Required Skills/Qualifications:* BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Math, or related field and 9 years of overall IT experience with the following requirements:* Broad experience in Datawarehouse and decision support systems implementation. *Experience with data quality, data engineering, and data standardization.* Preferred ~ 1-5 years experience using Informatica PowerCenter v.8 (Workflow Monitor, Workflow Manager, Repository Manager, and Repository Server Administration Console) to schedule and control workflows, import/update mappings and tasks, and security. *Extensive experience in error handling and problem resolution. Specific hands-on experience with workflow monitor strongly desired.* 1-5 years experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Experience with Messageway and Axway products for EDI processing is desired. * 3-5 years of database of Oracle DBA experience in either a development or production environment desired.* 1 year as Unix systems administrator and Scripting (PERL) experience.* Must be a UScitizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card) and have 5+ years of current work experience within the United States; must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance.
Pay Rate: $30-35/hr (W-2 with benefits)
