Description
Our client based in Folsom, CA has an immediate need of UNIX System Administrator for contract to permanent positions:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 8+ years of operating systems experience. Viewed as a well-developed technical resource capable of handling moderately complex assignment.

o Required to have knowledge of the Sun Solaris 2.8- 2.9 Operating System.

o Hardware support experience supporting Sun V880, E6500, and below. Subsystems include A1000, D1000, T3 arrays and other peripherals.

o Must have an understanding of UNIX operations and infrastructure, hardware, management and troubleshooting tools. (i.e. system installation and configuration, system security, hardware and software troubleshooting)

o Must be dedicated to excellent customer service; have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels; and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

o Excellent time management skills with proven ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks.

o Familiarity with Remedy or other call tracking systems.

o Ability to lift 50 lbs in normal performance of duties.

o Knowledge of, and/or hands-on experience with any of the following:

- Compaq Tru64 OS

- Veritas Cluster Services

- HP-UX Service Guard

- HBA multipath HW and SW

- EMC Celerra, Clariion, Symetrix SANs

- Oracle

- NIS

- NFS

- Samba

- Veritas Volume Manager

- Disksuite Volume Manager

- Apache

- Shell scripting



The position is 3 months contract-to-hire.df-tc
