Description
SUMMARY Maintains UNIX environment, including servers, SAN and related applications or systems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.? Provides comprehensive administration and security management within core business environment.? Installs, supports, and maintains various operating systems and core business applications.? Manages and coordinates upgrades, patches, and backups of applications utilizing established release procedures.? Develops specifications for bug fixes or required enhancements and works with vendors and/or in-house developers throughout the patch / release lifecycle to ensure high quality and timely results.? Work with developers and outside vendors to monitor and control application consumption of system resources such as disk space, memory and network bandwidth.? Work with other systems and database administrators, Network and Desktop teams to troubleshoot problems, address performance issues, specify and request new hardware or system resource requirements, and maintain disaster recovery plans.? Work with Security Coordinator and database administrators to develop and enforce application security policies.? Provides second tier technical support.? Uses and maintains various tools that link users to databases.?
