Our client is creating a highly visible UX team from scratch in order to create the look and feel of the future multi-media devices and applications. You will have the opportunity to create a more advanced and interactive viewing experience for millions of consumers. We are assisting in building a highly skilled team of User Interaction Engineers, Information Architects and User Experience Designers.



User Interaction Engineer (GUI)

Irvine, CA

Salary 70,000-100,000 plus bonus up to 25%



Responsibilities will include:

• Conduct visual design for all aspects of DTV’s user interface including visual style, iconography, menus, and other graphical elements

• Research visual design trends

• UI design responsibilities include creation of user stories, definition of use cases, design and specification of workflows and information architecture, and creation of UI specifications

• Determine target users’ needs and other motivating factors

• Assist developers in UI implementation

• Conduct and respond to usability tests



The qualified candidate should posses the following:



• Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Design, Industrial design, Interaction design or related field, or equivalent experience

• Minimum 2 years of UI design experience in UI Design for the Consumer Electronic Appliance including Web applications; DEVICE EXPERIENCE IS A MUST!!

• Strong portfolio of user interface designs, sketches, mockups and functional specifications that showcase the process of UI design phases, from concept to release

• Detailed knowledge of fundamental design principles and disciplines that affect typography, color use, animation, composition, use of space, distribution of information

• Develop personae and user scenarios using both standard and original techniques

• Proven ability to create effective UI design from loosely defined requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of key graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator

• Advanced-level knowledge of prototyping tools such as Flash is a plus

• Knowledge of Web 2.0 interaction paradigms and technologies is a plus.

• Strong communication skills
