Description
Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a VB Developer to join our team in our Consulting Practice.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing software that conforms to a design model within its constraints
  • Validating the implementation for conformance to the design
  • Developing and executing unit test programs to ensure proper functionality and error handling
  • Participating in creating design documents
  • Preparing documentation for source code, unit test plans, requirements reviews, and implementation feedback as required
  • Participating in the evaluation of software development tools
  • Evaluating and using third-party class libraries
  • Participating in the creation of design documents
  • Participating in design and code reviews
  • Participating in GUI design reviews with the customer
  • Reviewing requirements documents
  • Applying established development standards and coding style guidelines
  • Working in compliance with configuration management rules and guidelines
  • Communicating the status of development progress

    The criteria for several of the following technical qualifications are described as "demonstrated proficiency."

    Proficiency is demonstrated by having developed specific software components on previous projects for which the candidate had sole responsibility, and which were delivered and incorporated in a system currently in production. Academic experience, informal training (for example, reading material) or experimentation does not qualify as demonstrated experience.

  • At least five years of industry experience developing and supporting computer software. Experience must include at least one project through the entire project life-cycle into production deployment.
  • Required programming language experience includes demonstrated proficiency in developing VB software with a minimum of two years of experience with VB and experience with VB Script.
  • Active-X Data Objects (ADO)
  • Active-X Server Pages (ASP)
  • COM
  • Microsoft Transaction Services (MTS/COM+)


    Desired Skills:

    Demonstrated proficiency in developing software from an object-oriented design model a plus. Experience in reading Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams. Demonstrated proficiency in configuration management concepts and principles, as well as experience using one of the following tools are a definite plus:
  • Rational ClearCase
  • Microsoft Visual SourceSafe
    Demonstrated proficiency in unit testing techniques and tools such as Rational Purify, Mercury Interactive WinRunner or XRunner + NUNIT.

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelors or equivalent work experience

    * Position requires 50% travel when needed.
