Description
Robert Half Technology is currently accepting applications for contract to permanent position as a VB.NET developer with strong data analyst skills. The main focus of the developer will be to find business solutions through programming and data analysis. This person could be the lead in development projects and will also support existing SQL and VB.NET applications. This client is working on major transportation initiatives in Seattle and is looking for you to make a major impact!

Duties of the Developer:
  • Develop, test and maintain software solutions using VB.NET in Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
  • Develop custom data reports utilizing either Crystal Reports or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Must also be able to maintain existing reports in various platforms.
  • Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems within a Microsoft Windows Environment utilizing Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Train staff and users to work with computer systems and programs.

    Experience/Skills
  • 3+ years programming experience with VB.NET in either a client/server or web environment with a SQL server backend.
  • BA, BS or higher computer degree, or should have significant related computer work experience in the lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of RDMS coding languages such as TSQL, the .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR) and Crystal Reports Basic Syntax.
  • Able to develop comprehensive project work plans.
  • Able to learn new technology and/or functional areas quickly and thoroughly.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing using the English language.
  • Able to work in a team environment, while being self-directed to accomplish tasks individually.
  • Able to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
  • Able to work extended hours as needed including acting as a primary after hours contact on a rotating schedule.
