JOB DESCRIPTION: This role performs services to install, operate and maintain complex centralized and distributed computer systems in a VMware Virtual Infrastructure environment. Activities may include designing, implementing and coordinating solutions to ensure acceptable performance levels with proven and advanced systems technologies. Candidate will draw on their professional knowledge of systems operations as well as network, applications and Workstation services to deliver high quality server solutions. Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30AM-5:15PM (EST). Occasional extra hours may be needed on nights and weekends for server changes. Desired Experience - Intermediate to Adv skill level, 3-5 years. At least 3 years experience with VMware ESX Server products. Technical Skill Requirements: VMware vSphere 4 and Virtual Infrasructure 3 VMware ESX Server VMware VirtualCenter VMware VMotion VMware HA VMware DRS VMware Consolidated Backup VMware ESX Server 2.x and VirtualCenter 1.x Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2000 Linux Red Hat Enterprise support experience Knowledge and experience implementing Security hardening measures to the OS on Servers Knowledge of Security permissions and how they are applied to Files & Folders On-Call 24/7 support IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Client (TSM) IBM Tivoli Endpoint Software (ITM - agent) IBM SystemX Hardware A command of Server Networking Bash/Perl Scripting Non-Technical Skills Must have excellent teamwork skills balanced with ability to work alone and a positive attitude Strong Documentation skills Must have excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information Ability to interface with Customer & Tech Supt Teams Problem solving ability Written and verbal English skills Candidate should have 3+ years of relevant experience and at least TAKE ACTION!
