Description
Our client is one of the leading CLEC companies that is looking to continue it's tremendous growth. They have been in business over 10 years and they are currently looking for a manager to manage the VOIP Services division.

The person in this role will directly manage a team of communication engineers who install, configure, monitor, and maintain VoIP customer premise equipment, and VOIP to TDM gateway's. Qualified candidates will require strong emphasis on troubleshooting in-production customer issues as well as proactively monitor service quality across the VOIP network to prevent network outage conditions.

Responsibilities:

* Establishing test criteria and implementing processes for evaluating various vendors' CPE's
* Writing reports and making vendor recommendations based on the results of in-house testing
* Establishing a Field Equipment Database where CPE's are tracked for success, failures, bugs, and general interoperability issues; integrating these additional findings into subsequent vendor evaluation reports
* Communicate, coordinate, and test with vendors on equipment failures, discovered bugs, and feature requests and present status updates to management
* Implement quality of service and success / failure thresholds into customer-specific monitoring and alerting elements as well as monitoring the overall health of the entire VoIP network

Requirements:

* Customer-facing voice and data networking experience with an emphasis on Voice over IP technology
* Communications networks and the various elements (switching, signaling, intelligence network, messaging, directory, notification, etc.)
* Knowledge of Voice/VoIP protocols and terminology such as SS7, ISDN, SIP, SIP-T, H.323, T.38, G.711, G.729, transcoding, Session Border Controllers, etc.
* Experience with telephony-based test platforms and equipment from vendors such as Empirix, Agilent, Spirent, JDSU, Brix Networks, or GL Communications
* Hands-on experience with any of the following platforms: Broadsoft Broadworks, Acme Packet Net-Net series, Lucent LCS, and IADs from Cisco, Adtran, Carrier Access Corporation, or Telco Systems
* Hands-on experience with PBXes and Key Systems is a plus
* Qualified candidate will be a self-starter, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and a team player with strong leadership qualities
