The Walt Disney Studios encompasses the creation, production, promotion, sales, acquisition and domestic and international distribution of live-action and animated motion pictures, videocassette and DVD releases, live stage plays, and music and soundtrack recordings.

General Description
The VP New Technology will work closely with Studio business units and the entire team within the Studio New Technology department to identify major changes and opportunities to leverage technologies to improve the Studio's business capacity and profitability.

Report:
The VP New Technology will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer of the Studio.
Duties:
1. Identify, evaluate and deploy technologies in electronic production, electronic post-production, and electronic distribution that improve the Studio's production and distribution workflow
2. Maintain close relations with technology liaisons and senior management of each business unit within the Studio
3. Coordinate and collaborate with other Disney divisions outside of the Studio on technology related issues
4. Maintain close relations with technology vendors
5. Manage new technology research
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Minimum 4 year degree in Engineering
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in Media & Information Technologies
3. Experience in ?end-to-end? electronic production techniques
4. Knowledge of cinematography, post production, audio/video compression, eCommerce/E-Distribution, IP transport, and physical digital media formats with a special emphasis on digital security technologies to protect media assets from production through distribution
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail preferred
6. Strong technical communication skills preferred
7. Travel required
