Description

Global Investment Bank located in Jersey City, NJhas an immediate full time opportunity for an experienced VMO VP.

Role Description: Vendor Management Office

Maintain policies, standards, and guidelines (including escalation procedures) relating to vendor management globally
Assess the current state of implementation of vendor management and associated vendor risk profile across divisions/offices/affiliates
Sponsor communication between and co-ordinate the engagement of the Practitioner Groups (Procurement, Legal, Tech Risk, ASD and OGS/BIG)
Implement integrated process for vendor set-up and drive the roll out to ensure all new vendor engagements comply with Policy
Co-ordinate activities with regional VMO
Ensure that specific regulatory requirements are factored into divisional vendor management programs
Establish, in consultation with the divisions and appropriate Practitioner Groups, elements of risk to be considered by divisions in their vendor risk assessments
Facilitate appropriate coordination of management for vendors shared by multiple divisions
Conduct recurring periodic reviews with Divisional Vendor Management Teams considering vendor-related risks as well as the associated divisional policies, processes, practices, etc
Coordinate with Internal Audit, Compliance and/or other appropriate groups to assure that vendor management is appropriately audited/tested in a manner and on a schedule set by those auditing/testing groups
Support reporting to senior management (Chief Administrative Officer(s), Business Practices Committee, Vendor Management Taskforce etc.) on vendor management, as required
Provide and communicate vendor management guidance, tools, best practices, and training needs (coordinating with Goldman Sachs University as necessary)
Act as Business Sponsor for the development and deployment of firmwide vendor management tools, including the Vendor Directory
Build connectivity on vendor management with affiliates and Servicing Platform
Co-ordinate vendor management benchmarking for portfolio companies and clients as required


Experience/Skills

Bachelors/Masters degree in a related field (MBA preferred); relevant industry qualifications or accreditations (eg ISM, CPM, CIPS etc.)

Minimum ten years experience in vendor management-related positions such as supply chain management, sourcing and procurement, legal and contracting or operational risk management

Project-based implementation experience applied through change management or business process improvement programs

Knowledge of the financial services industry including regulatory requirements and bank holding company experience

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships

Strong influencing and negotiation skills with track record of achieving results

Strong sense of teamwork and ability create partnerships within the organization

Strong organizational skills, multiple tasking, commercial awareness

Personal integrity, initiative, leadership qualities
