We are seeking an experienced person for a VP of Application Development position for a client in Columbus, GA.

This position is eligible for a potential signing bonus and an 11% - 15% bonus in addition to the salary range listed. Relocation is available, which includes a 3 month temporary housing allowance for qualified candidates.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this opportunity, and are also unable to work on a corp-to-corp basis.

Responsibilities:
* Perform in a leadership role within a complex environment

* Work with and lead the application development team (up to 3 direct reports and ultimately leading up to 50 people total)

* Initial project will be to convert an existing Mainframe application to a Java platform

* Regularly report progress to upper level management and staff members involved in the migration and future development needs
Requirements:
* 15 years of relevant work experience

* 5 years of Mainframe development experience (ie COBOL, DB2, etc.)

* Experience with migrating Legacy applications from the Mainframe to Java is preferred, but not required

* Previous experience in a leadership role in a complex and challenging environment (ie Manager of Application Development, etc.)

* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

* The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and well versed in applicable technologies relevant to the requirements of this position

* Any application development background and experience in a financial environment is a plus
