Voice User Interface Designer

Looking for a senior-level Voice User Interface (VUI) Designer with experience designing directed-dialog self-service speech applications. Seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to design and consult on innovative user interfaces for speech applications, working to achieve exceptional caller satisfaction and transaction completion. The VUI Designer will be an integral part of the project team and have significant customer contact, working with the application development team and business partners to design and develop a state-of-the-art speech-enabled Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.

Project Description:
Adding self-service transactions to an existing speech IVR for a major health insurance company. Transactions will need to be designed for both members and health care providers. Expectation is that VUI designer would familiarize him or herself with the existing persona and create dialogs that are consistent with the persona and the rest of the system.

Major Responsibilities:
"X Create effective speech user interface designs including call flow, dialogs, grammars and prompts to accomplish the project requirements
"X Assist in implementing these designs, including interacting with developers, directing voice talent and performing usability tests
"X Analyze performance of the user interface in the field and recommend specific changes to improve caller satisfaction and transaction completion.

Required Skills/Experience:
"X Must have demonstrated successful customer-facing expertise in all phases of the design, deployment, testing and tuning of Voice User Interfaces for IVR systems
"X Track record of successful VUI designs for self-service speech-enabled IVR systems
"X Experience in the organization and execution of usability testing for speech applications.
"X Thorough grounding in industry best practices for dialog, prompt and persona design
"X Good knowledge of natural language and directed dialog design techniques
"X Be able to work with a minimum amount of direct supervision
"X Excellent MS Office Skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
"X Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
