Lagasse Sweet is a division of United Stationers Inc, North America's largest broadline wholesale distributor of business products, with consolidated net sales of approximately $4.4 billion. The company's network of 68 distribution centers allows it to offer nearly 50,000 items to its approximately 20,000 reseller customers. This network, combined with United's depth and breadth of inventory in technology products, traditional business products, office furniture, janitorial and sanitation products, and foodservice consumables, enables the company to ship proucts on an overnight basis to more than 90% of the U.S. and major cities within Canada and Mexico.

VICE PRESIDENT, SALES - LAGASSE SWEET

POSITION BACKGROUND & SCOPE

The Vice President of Sales mission is to deliver sustainable business results across the company's customer base, play an important role in future succession plans of the company, and act as a critical component of LagasseSweet senior leadership team.

Oversee all sales activities of LagasseSweet, delivering current year sales and profit commitments while evolving into a more sophisticated, fact-based selling and marketing enterprise. Develop multi-year sales strategy to lead industry transition toward Wholesale distribution and ?stockless? efficiency. Adapt current leading-edge product and service offerings to implement in core sales portfolio. Identify and deliver outstanding customer service, making Lagasse ?easy to do business with?, while achieving sales efficiency and efficacy standards. Work closely with VP Operations and VP Supply Chain to ensure smooth delivery of products and customer satisfaction.

LagasseSweet Field Sales organization has 4 regions consisting of
  • 4 Region Sales Directors
  • 10 District Sales Managers
  • 75 Territory Sales Managers

    LagasseSweet National Accounts Sales organization consists of:
  • 1 National Accounts Director
  • 6 National Accounts Managers

    Customer Service Organization
  • 1 Director
  • 6 Supervisors / Managers
  • 100+ Associates in 4 Primary and 3 secondary centers


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

    Responsible for the development and delivery of the Lagasse strategic sales plan to include:

    1. Aggressive revenue growth through:
  • Customer acquisition and retention
  • Existing account base penetration (exponential through service expansion)

    2. Margin Management and Enhancement
  • Penetration of non legacy lines across sales channels & product categories

    3.Set Strategic direction for the integration of LagasseSweet sales organization
  • Develop and implement the requisite LagasseSweet sales organization
  • Appropriate investments for continued National accounts growth
  • Skill set development & call content development
  • Compensation Design & Management to achieve sales goals


    KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree - Business Administration/Marketing/Finance, MBA preferred
  • Sales executive with a minimum of 15-20 years of increasingly responsible positions and a superior track record of accomplishment in sales management, sales strategy, and sales operations management. Background in a complex industry with multiple distribution channels and classes of trade. Strong results oriented mentality that focuses the organization and drives growth initiatives. Thrives in a performance-based culture.
  • Strategic; a thought leader who has demonstrated success in moving sales organizations into more sophisticated, rigorous business models.
  • Sales leader with an entrepreneurial flair, yet with the organizational and leadership capability to prioritize, coordinate and rationalize the efforts of the team.
