Vice President of Marketing

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer the VP of Marketing will be a key member of the companys senior leadership team in managing the overall business. He/She will be directly responsible for leading and managing the strategic and day-to-day operational marketing initiatives of the Company.

The Marketing VP will serve as a partner to the Chief Executive Officer not only on Product Management, Product Marketing, external relations matters, but on strategy, operational and business issues as well.

As one of seven direct reports to the Chief Executive Officer, he/she will work with the Chief Executive Officer and senior management team to establish the strategy and ensure the successful operations of this high-growth company.

The Marketing VP must pay particular attention to the rate of change affecting the companys business and respond with fresh ideas and sound general business and financial solutions. He/She will possess the ability to assume broader management responsibilities after fulfilling the initial requirements of the position. The Marketing VP will also be an effective company spokesperson, able to articulate the company's story to the Street and investors.

More specifically, the Marketing VP will:
· Take a leadership role in assisting the Chief Executive Officer in the overall management and direction of the company including the evolution and implementation of company strategies, operational goals, and policies.
· Serve as a key business partner to the Chief Executive Officer and his/her colleagues, offering solutions beyond the marketing function of the organization leading to the firms profitability and continued growth.
· Run the overall marketing and product management function and be responsible for highly efficient operations, creative solutions and market driven strategies that will drive the company forward.
· Interface directly with the 7-member Board of Directors to communicate Strategy, direction and progress.
· Play a role in significant corporate transactions including investments, mergers and acquisitions (for example, increasing the companys coverage of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, as well as expanding its product offerings).
· Have a leadership role in the development of strategic partnerships to broaden service offerings in areas such as security, storage, VoIP, video and Adn.
· Work with others to provide optimum teaming.
· Partner with and add value to the sales organization as appropriate.

CRITICAL FIRST YEAR DELIVERABLES
During his/her first year, it is critically important that the new Marketing VP:
· Help the company improve its operations from a business and financial perspective including achieving profitability, positive free cash flow, and continued revenue growth.
· Understand and articulate company's story and continue to increase the companys credibility with the Street and other stakeholders.
· Build a highly successful team as the company shifts its strategy to meet the demands of the marketplace.
· Gain acceptance from members of the executive management team as a smart, thoughtful leader and someone who is recognized and trusted as a key team player, an equal and effective leader who understands the industry, the organization, the business operations, and makes significant, immediate contributions to the business units, the company, and the shareholders.

Experience and Qualifications:

EDUCATION Undergraduate degree required; an MBA would be a decided plus.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years proven senior management experience in financially complex, operations-focused organizations. It is essential that the new Marketing VP understands complex operations and assists in the development of innovative business solutions and strategies for an evolving company whose mission is to increase shareholder value, market share, and customer satisfaction. It is important that he/she will bring with him/her broad business knowledge and skills beyond the marketing function and be a highly regarded business partner to the Chief Executive Officer and entire senior management team.
