Seeking a Visiting Senior Analyst to join our team on the Urbana campus. IllinoisVENTURES is a premier seed and early-stage technology investment firm focused on research-derived companies in information technologies, physical sciences, life sciences and clean technology. The Senior Analyst will provide a broad array of business evaluation and development services for promising, high-potential new companies based on technologies across an array of domains, but particularly information technology broadly. Other duties and responsibilities include: 1. Support the due diligence process that is essential for merit based investments into new companies that are primarily, but not exclusively, based on University of Illinois technologies. 2. Participate in the drafting of periodic due diligence memoranda, performance reports, and support efforts in the University community to foster entrepreneurship. 3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with technology managers, faculty and IllinoisVENTURES professional staff at the Chicago and Urbana-Champaign campuses. 4. Engage closely with the University's technology managers, faculty and IllinoisVENTURES professional staff to screen and evaluate prospects presented to IllinoisVENTURES and the Illinois Emerging Technologies Fund. 5. Assist with periodic research activities in support of business building related to existing portfolio companies.

Candidates must possess a Bachelors Degree in a technical field that is relevant to the science and technology areas related to the IT IllinoisVENTURES practice area, emphasis on digital media and software. A general understanding of early-stage venture finance is preferred, as are a specific grasp of current business trends and technical trends in systems infrastructure, software development tools and environments, Web 2.0 infrastructure and Web service protocols. The Senior Analyst must also have knowledge of and experience in forming and building new high tech start-up business, and have excellent written and oral communications skills. The Senior Analyst must be able to manage multiple complex tasks; must be self-guided and professionally motivated; and must have exceptional interpersonal, managerial, organizational, supervisory and leadership skills. Although the Senior Analyst will work with IllinoisVENTURES professional staff at both the Chicago and Urbana-Champaign offices, the successful candidate is expected to locate in the Urbana-Champaign area.

This is a full-time, 12-month Academic Professional position.
