Description
Robert Half Technology is currently hiring for a Visual Basic 6.0 Developer to work with a Fortune 500 client in Atlanta, GA. The Visual Basic Programmer will be expected to develop, distribute and support VB front end applications to assist analyses that capture the total economic dynamics our clients spending trends. Primary duties will be to perform full life cycle Visual Basic development from business requirements through testing.Key Responsibilities:
  • Synthesize business requirements into technical specifications and finalize project and system documentation
  • Develop VB and VBA interfaces, enhancements, conversions and reports Coordinate data flow with DBA
  • Rework/debug prior VB coding
  • Develop and administer test plans
  • Software rollout
  • Assist and train users during implementation

Experience/Skills
Minimum:
  • 5+ years prior system design and analysis experience including working with end users through an iterative design processes
  • Strong adherence to best practices as it relates to Programming and understanding of Software Development methodologies
  • Expert working with SQL, VB, Access and Excel
  • Proficient in maintaining technical documentation, developing test plans, and QA final processes
  • Proficient in analyzing and evaluating large and complex data sets
  • Proven strategy and business acumen
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Must be able to prioritize work to excel in a deadline oriented environment
Preferred:
  • AS400 and IBM JCL language
  • Manufacturing or sourcing experience a plus
  • Creating classes, DLLs optimize system performance
  • HTML, web page delivery methodology experience
