VoIP Engineer - Lead (Reston, VA)

A strong VoIP Network Engineer Lead with 5 years of field experience with large-scale Cisco and Microsoft enterprise environments for Tier 3 support and sustaining engineering. Support for developing derived requirements, technical engineering support, security policy support, security systems engineering, planning, and security consulting services. Responsible for developing clear, comprehensive and integrated security reviews of architectural designs to verify security and to ensure consistency, maintainability and flexibility. Leads projects or subprojects of strategic impact. Position requires on call availability.

The individual must understand the Cisco AVVID suite. Strong Knowledge of Cisco CallManager and Unity is a must. The ability to bring up VoIP and Data at new locations under tight deadlines is required, along with working under limited supervision. The individual must present a balance of technical knowledge, organizational skill, and professional presentation.

The appropriate candidate will have at least five (5) years experience working on formally structured LAN/WAN projects and at least three (3) years experience working on formally structured Cisco VoIP projects. Candidate must be able to coordinate activities of other VoIP engineers. Candidate must posses a basic understanding of the engineering project lifecycle, experience executing tasks under strict project management and ability to effectively present technical solutions in both written and verbal format. The candidate must be thoroughly familiar with the architecture and implementation of modern TCP/IP networks with specific knowledge of VoIP, QoS, VPN Tunneling, VoIP Security, IP routing, IP traffic filtering (access lists), DNS, DHCP and the ability to understand Sniffer trace data.

• Enterprise VoIP Operational and Implementation experience
  
• Demonstrated various large Cisco CallManager (AVVID) implementations
  
• Experience leading and completing large scale VoIP Infrastructure/Network related projects from establishment of business requirements through deliverables
  
• Ability to translate customer requirements and turn them into solutions (functional requirements)
  
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications including, Call Manager, Unity, CER, Meeting Place, CallManager Express, Unity Express, Cisco Gatekeepers, Cisco MCU etc.
  
• Demonstrated experience upgrading Cisco CallManager from 4.x to 6.x and Unity from 4.x to 5.x
  
• Advanced network troubleshooting skills

Required Education (REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE)

• Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, or professional relevant experience
  
• Active CCIE certification a plus
  
• STRONG communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal

• Must be able to present and interact with diverse groups of varying technical ability
