BVOIP Provisioning Technical Engineer

Job Description:
The position requires the individual to be responsible for managing the installation of dedicated wide area internet connections at various speeds from the client's Common backbone to various customer locations and they conduct testing for voice features, interface with the VNCC for VoIP network element provisioning issues, LOCAL to resolve Switch translation automation fall-out, and client Labs Tier IV to troubleshoot test & turn-up issues.
This position requires good knowledge of Tier 1 ISPs Routing Policies (WAN experience) as well as Network design, Routing, DNS, IP Subneting, TCP/IP protocol,(BGP, OSFP, RIP, and EIGRP) Security: NAT Configuration, Proxy Server, and Firewalls. Candidate must have an understanding of the Porting of phone numbers per industry standards in establishing voice communications to BVOIP circuits. Telecommunications, Good knowledge of (OCX, T3, fractional T3, T1s, ATM, and Frame Relay, EVPN/AVPN, Voice Over-IP). Hardware (Routers, CSU/DSU, bridges, multiplexers, servers and switches configuration) Strong project management skills are required to compliment the required technical knowledge. This is NOT a hands on type of position. The position has the overall responsibility for implementing the service in order to meet their customers requirements, both technically and logistically. It also requires a broad understanding of client BVoIP Network infrastructure and operations, Voice & Data IP Services, physical and logical layer troubleshooting and analysis and experience in customer premise equipment and hardware in order to successfully provision and resolve complex VoIP issues requiring detailed analysis and research.
Duties and Responsibilities
The engineer provides support and guidance to BVoIP customers. They conduct testing for data circuit and voice features, interface with the VNCC for VoIP network element provisioning issues, LOCAL to resolve Switch translation automation fall-out, and client Labs TierIV to troubleshoot test & turn-up issues.
75% Provides provisioning support

??? Direct interface to the Customer, PMs, VOIP Order Managers
??? Provide Voice network trouble isolation and resolution
??? Interfaces with various support groups on a variety of customer related voice provisioning service troubles
??? Participates on conference calls with other technical support groups, customers and their suppliers during the Test & Turn-up phase

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
The individual must have a good understanding of IP Backbone Architecture, TCP/IP protocol, IP addressing and routing policies, Basic Network designs, and Domain Name Services. Additionally, the individual must have a good working knowledge of required technical hardware such as Edgewater and Cisco Routers, CSU/DSU, bridges, multiplexiers, servers and switches. This position also requires a broad understanding of client BVoIP Network infrastructure and operations, Voice & Data IP Services, physical and logical layer troubleshooting and analysis and experience in customer premise equipment and hardware in order to successfully provision and resolve complex VoIP issues requiring detailed analysis and research.

CCNA Certification is preferred
The Engineers need to be able to make decisions about the level of support that will be provided to the customer. An example of this is to go above and beyond the service description and responsibilities to ensure customer satisfaction. Our engineers, as managers, have the power and responsibility to make decisions about service levels that are outside the boundaries of support.
Rotating shifts with other team members. Building coverage is 8am ??? 8 pm. Possible weekends when emergencies arise.
