Position Purpose

·The Information Systems (IS) Systems Programmer installs, tests, maintains, documents, and provides technical support for systems software, as well as modify existing and creating new systems software for specific enterprise needs.

·The Systems Programmer performs software product evaluation, development and testing and assists in planning system changes.

Essential-

· Installs, tests, maintains, and documents system software, operating systems, compilers, utility programs, etc.

· Modifies existing and/or creates new software for specific enterprise needs, provide technical support to the applications and operations staff on the use of system software.

· Participates in feasibility studies for the installation of new hardware.

· Supports the installation planning for hardware or applications program requirements and assists in the corresponding system software changes.

· Performs software product evaluation, including planning, installation, testing, and technical support for the applications and/or computer operations staff.

· Provides assistance to the development staff to assure the proper integration of all systems software within his/her area of responsibility.

· Performs at or above the enterprise's Information Systems performance standards.

· Performs other duties of a similar nature or level to support the tasks assigned to the department.

· Carry out other duties as may be assigned or requested.

Authority

· Develop new functionality for existing application under direction of senior developers

· Develop and implement software releases and/or patches as assigned.

Recommend new software and hardware products.
