We have an immediate need for a AIX P-Series System Administrator JOB DESCRIPTION The candidate will provide 24x7 data center operations services to a client that implemented an ERP system. Provide support of the infrastructure by performing administrative functions on the AIX pSeries system. Create AIX level backups of the system. Provide infrastructure support of all tools that ship with AIX (compilers, debuggers, mailers, etc.) Provide infrastructure support of additional AIX and non-AIX tools required to support the environment. Maintain the Servers in accordance to site security standards. Install and upgrade AIX on all new and existing server components. Setup and maintain user accounts. Maintain inventory of all server components. Provide support of all server components. ESS, Cisco SAN, and analysis skills experience in an ERP Environment that includes hardware, AIX, ERP and/or Oracle are essential. Enter, track and close system problems and changes in a systems management tool. Familiarity with data center operations using SMC processes is important. Coordinate design and implementation of disaster recovery plan and procedures for major systems, as required. Update system support documents (eg, Run Books), as necessary. Assist in preparation of reports for monitoring and tracking system performance and capacity. Assist with the management of physical security for assets and other resources, as required. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. Ideally candidates will be local to Harrisburg, PA. Skills: AIX pSeries Servers Customer Service Problem resolution Data center operations Enterprise Storage/SAN ERP Oracle Experience: One to five years of I/T operational work experience with complex server environments. Bias toward action and ability to deliver or exceed expected customer service levels. Education: Studies in computer technology or related field.
