Description
Howard Systems International seeks an Enterprise Architect/Technical Lead for a 6 month temp-to-perm opportunity for a prestigious financial services client in the Hartford area.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. technical leader to fill a key role on two enterprise-wide projects as an application architect and technical lead. These projects involve the building of web services, data centralization, consolidation and data integration through several different distributed protocols. Capabilities will be delivered to both internal employees and external customers through a web interface which requires extensive experience implementing applications with J2EE technologies. The project teams intend to make extensive use of third-party products and services and therefore require experience in building integrated solutions with Vendor's and packaged software. Our ideal candidate will enjoy building and delivering innovative application solutions that provide significant benefit to the business through frequent interaction with not only the business partners, but also other technical teams, including enterprise architects, infrastructure support teams, enterprise business services teams, and our technology management office. The candidate must be experienced and comfortable with building relationships, resolving conflicting dynamic priorities, multitasking, and working in partnership with a project leader to identify detailed project work tasks.

This individual will be responsible for the overall application design, technical design plans and documentation, design walkthroughs and mentoring junior team members, leading the build effort and seeing the application through to implementation phase. Requirements include all of the following:

Experience in Data warehousing and business intelligence tools and reporting subject-matter expertise in the financial services/insurance industry.
Experience in leading multi-platform project teams involving web, third-party, and legacy integration.
Experience with enterprise-wide data consolidation, transformation, and integration is required. (Informatica PowerCenter experience a plus).
Experience with e-Delivery, electronic notification, electronic consent.
Must be a team player, capable of performing well in a complex, matrixed organization structure.
Experience or exposure to Document management technologies.
SUMMIT Project methodology experience desirable, other SDLC experience acceptable.
Must have a proven track record of creative problem solving and delivery of tangible results - work products must be demonstrable.
5+ years experience in Java, J2EE, Web Services, XML, JDBC, Jbuilder, PVCS, Rational Rose, UML, SYBASE, IBM UDB.
Dtailed understanding of distributed programming, including: CORBA, RMI, MQ Series, J2EE and SOAP.

Candidates local/commuteable to the Hartford, CT area, are preferred. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO WORK WITH THIRD PARTIES
