Web Application Framework Architect

Location: Menlo Park, CA

Salary: Excellent plus bonus

H1 Candidates will be considered

Out of state candidates welcome, however must be able to relocate on their own.

Additional Details: Position is ideally suited for developers who have participated in open-source web application server development projects such as Spring MVC, Struts 2.X, Tomcat 5.X, Wickets, and other Apache-related projects.


Responsibilities:
Architect and enhance a web application framework that supports hundreds of developers and millions of customers in the US and worldwide.

* Hands-on leadership in the development of the web application framework, including AJAX support.
* Integrate state-of-the-art open-source web application frameworks.
* Area of focus will be in the rendering user interfaces.
* Provide software best practices to application developers.
* Automate the software build process by using tools such as Ant and Maven 2.

Job Requirements:
* Expert knowledge of Java (5+ yrs hands-on experience) and important frameworks such as JSF, Spring, JMS, Struts.
* Working knowledge in other languages such as C/C++, Ruby, Python, or Perl.
* In-depth experience with MVC based web technologies such as JSP, Servlets, Struts, Velocity
* Strong object-oriented programming & design skills
* Experience with methodologies and computing standards such as Web services, SOAP, WSDL/XSD, Service Orchestration, etc.
* Experience with implementing AJAX-frameworks in a high-volume environment.
* In-depth experience with Linux and Unix operating systems.
* Experience with Agile Methods, including Test Driven Development.
* Able to leverage a background in distributed systems theory to formulate scalable and reliable software designs.
* Prior background with a high-volume consumer-oriented online firm is desirable.
* BS with 7+ years experience or MS with 5+ years experience in computer science or equivalent.
