Description
We are seeking an experienced (minimum 4 years) Web Applications Programmer to work with our client on a new development project.
This contract position will work with Emergency Operations to design and construct web based applications and databases within the framework of the Rational Unified Process. Work will be conducted as a part of a project team including the project manager, business analyst, quality assurance analyst, and other project stakeholders and individual contributors.
The primary project assignment will involve system design and development for a new Trauma Center Site Survey application. Stakeholders include survey medical personnel and trauma centers across the state of Florida. The solution delivered will be an Internet web-based front end developed with asp.NET and connecting to an MS SQL database on the back end. This contract position may also work on miscellaneous projects as requested and assigned by management.

Requirements of the Web Developer
  • 4+ years demonstrated experience and proficiency with ASP or other Microsoft web-based development platforms
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience and proficiency in asp.NET
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience and proficiency with object-oriented analysis and design including proficiency in the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the development of logical data models, class diagrams, activity diagrams, component models, etc.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience and proficiency with data modeling / database design / database administration for MS SQL Server applications
  • Excellent organizational skills; must possess the ability to analyze, break down, segregate, and prioritize information, work, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must possess the ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, end users, and management staff
  • Preference shown to candidates who have:

    • earned a bachelors degree (or higher) in Computer Science or Software Engineering
    • more than one year of experience with the Rational Enterprise Suite of Tools including Rational Rose and Rational ClearCase
    • previous or current experience developing and deploying secure web sites utilizing VeriSign SSL
    • previous or current experience with Health/Medical information systems

Tasks and Objectives

The objectives and tasks to be performed by this Business Analyst include the following:
  • This position reports to the Site Survey Manager
  • Design, develop and maintain ASP.NET web-based software applications
  • Design, develop and maintain SQL server databases
  • Work closely with the project manager, business analyst, subject matter experts, and end users to develop and translate requirements specifications, analysis models, and design models as appropriate for each specific component of the overall system
  • Develop project artifacts and application documentation
  • Participate in requirements and joint application development workshops
  • Create visual models using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) contained the Rational Rose tool
  • Delivery of fully tested and error free application code
  • Work with the business analyst and quality assurance analyst to exhaustively document the entire system
  • Work with the project manager to assist in the development of iteration plans
  • Work with the project team to facilitate component and integration testing
  • Work with the project team to produce online training materials such as FAQ's, tutorials, help files, etc.
  • Work with the project team to facilitate end user training and post-deployment support
  • Provide prompt status reports and other information requests as required to project stakeholders and the project manager
  • Conforms to Department standards
  • Participates in peer and architecture reviews with staff from Division of Information Technology
