MORE NOTES. good good information about this job:
core concern is that the candidate has advanced knowledge of:
- HTML
- CSS
- Table-less design
- JavaScript (and hopefully common JavaScript libraries)
- Graphic Design (Page Layout, Buttons, Photo Editing, Icons, Logos, etc.)
- User Interface Design
- Best practices for UX, SEO, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility

It would be preferred that the applicant has worked with or around Server Side technologies before such as:
- Microsoft .NET (Preferred)
- PHP
- Java
It would also be preferred if the applicant has worked around a content management solution. We are currently thinking of moving to Microsoft SharePoint for this purpose, and so explicit experience in SharePoint would be great.

On the multimedia side, we currently host simple animations, videos, and some slightly interactive tutorials using Adobe Flash technologies. However, moving forward I would really like to be able to open up the gate as far as the dynamic and interactive content on our Website.

It is therefore preferred that a candidate have essential Flash and/or Silverlight skills, such as:
- Vector drawing, symbols, movie clips, framing/animation, scenes, timeline/scene navigation, and library usage
- Variable manipulation/passing
- Query string value input/output
- Video playback
- Basic Actionscript(Flash)/XAML(Silverlight) to support the aforementioned skills

If a candidate is strong in Actionscript/XAML it would certainly be a huge plus, but it is not a requirement at this point.

Having said that, it is critical to the position that a candidate can expand their toolbox of skills while on the job. If we decide down the road to build a fancy application in Flash or Silverlight it would be my expectation that the Web designer would educate themselves on the new technology
