Description
Technisource is seeking a Web Designer for a long term position in the Charlotte area. This is a 12+ month contract that has the possibility of converting to permanent at some point.

Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Creative Services, the Designer designs and constructs Web Pages for enterprise level E-commerce site including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques appropriate for multi-channel communications. Produces graphic sketches, creative designs, and copy layouts for online content. Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout and typography principles, creates wireframe specs and aesthetic Web design concepts. Maintains and provides ongoing visual design of the website, promos and online branding banners, seasonal content specials, affiliate sites, and custom brand portals for company stakeholders. May lead specific visual direction of assigned areas and direct the work of production artists.

Ideal candidate will possess technical expertise or have a strong working knowledge in the areas of Front End Web development, markup languages, client-side scripting, best practices, accessibility.

Must be aware of cross-browser compatibilities. Must be presently working with HTML, CSS, Javascript, XHTML, DHTML, AJAX, XML or similar technologies.

Candidate will work directly with IT, Marketing and Design staff, building and maintaining our primary Internet presence. The candidate will need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be self-motivated, goal-orientated and willing to work as part of team. Candidate must be able to adapt to the use of an enterprise level content management system and changing proprietary application tools within a large E-commerce life cycle.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5+ years of experience in Front End Web development or Web architecture utilizing user-centric design models, the ability to design compelling and consistent visuals, code markup languages, implement changing or dynamic content, test and document Web applications with awareness of best practices throughout various points of development and facilitate change requests.
  • 2+ years in an eCommerce/Consumer Transactional company.
  • 1+ ActionScript 2.0 (Object-Oriented Programming/FLASH) is a plus.
  • Expert Knowledge for Macromedia Platforms including Dreamweaver: 2+ years
  • Expert Knowledge for Adobe Platforms including Photoshop: 2+ years
  • Expert in HTML, strong working knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets.
  • Ability to work with an information architect to continually enhance overall customer experience.
  • Motivated self-learner who likes to advance skill sets, stay abreast of changing trends in technology, applications and E-commerce industry as a whole.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Multi-tasking abilities, good troubleshooting skills, a creative thinker who identifies with customer experience.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing corporate strategies and deadlines. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals within evolving Web methodologies.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    BA in Graphic Design, Computer Science, Communications or equivalent from a credited University or Technical/Vocational school/or successful experience of equal level in the field.

    Candidate must demonstrate a strong creative portfolio with relative arc of work.

    Experience with consumer-focused transactional websites, gaming, surveys and
    Interactive banner advertising with FLASH is a PLUS.
