We are also a leading provider of reference and trade publishing for the medical, business, engineering and other professions.   The School Education Group has an opening for a Web Designer in Columbus, OH .    The Web Designer is responsible for the visual design, usability, graphic production, maintenance and front-end development of web-based products of the McGraw-Hill Learning Group.  Works with Project Management, Development and Web Design Manager to design prototypes and application interface.   Essential Accountabilities: Design high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas. Maintain the overall design and front-end display for the online products. Graphic Production for online products. Testing template builds on multiple OS and browser for display and style issues.  Evangelize User-Centered Design concepts and promote a culture of creativity. Stay current on industry trends and competitor's products. Research and recommend new techniques in user interface design. Bachelor's degree in web design or related field. 2-4 years experience in web design. Industry-leading understanding of Information Architecture and Usability. Demonstrated experience in user-centric testing and design in the online and/or software industries. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Advanced HTML and CSS skills. Proficiency with industry standard tools for web design and HTML coding. Knowledge (3 years+) with Adobe Photoshop, BBEdit, HTML, CSS, Javascript. Working knowledge of version control software. McGraw-Hill Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employerdf-tc
