Responsibilities: - Product designer creates visual layouts, flows and prototypes for development of new Web projects. - The designer is also responsible for production of graphic assets used on existing websites. - Producing practical and grounded design solutions that address complex business, marketing and user needs. - Rapidly creating superior designs and visual mock-ups. - Designing for a wide range of online projects including publications, marketing and content partnership initiatives. - Developing dynamic prototypes, refined design screens and final graphic assets. - Working closely with the development team. - Provide guidance and leadership within the design team. - Collaborate with product managers and tech leads on functional requirements and design solutions. - Internally, the Senior Designer will coordinate with leads and managers within the immediate group as well as related departments. Externally, the Senior Designer will correspond and/or manage vendors responsible for design and development deliverables. - This is an active hands-on role, designing the core product user experience, advancing the client brand and supporting marketing as well as partner initiatives. Requirements: - Clear demonstration of design skills and an eye for detail in production. - Must be comfortable working across a number of projects at any time. - Must have familiarity with content management systems. - Must demonstrate outstanding design talent and creativity. - Have an understanding of a user-centered design process. - Proven ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups. - Have a solid understanding of and perspective on social media trends and technologies. - Reporting to the Design Director, the Senior Web Designer must be an independent, self-motivated, creative professional, capable of adapting quickly to a fast-paced environment. - Ultimately, we are looking for someone who lives to be creative, has a passion for the web, is committed to achieving highest quality design and eager to pushing the boundaries of convergent media. - Have 6+ years of designing consumer focused rich media Web and/or application UI. - Must demonstrate outstanding design talent and creativity. - Have an understanding of a user-centered design process. - Proven ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups. - Strong communications and organizational skills with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in HTML, DHTML and CSS. - Demonstrated high proficiency in leading design tools such as Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. - Have a solid understanding of and perspective on social media trends and technologies. - BA/MA in graphic design or related design discipline. - Familiarity with content management systems.
