InfoTech Resources is seeking candidates for a Web Developer I (Java/J2EE) direct hire opening in Jackson , MS . Position is responsible for developing new Web applications and enhancing existing Web applications that promote effective information transfer between company business systems. The Web Developer is also responsible for identifying and implementing methods of preventing technical problems that could cause disruption to business activities and performing systems and business function analysis in support of business areas.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
Develops new and maintains existing Web applications in accordance with supplied design patterns.
Develops Web software systems that promote effective information transfer between company business systems.
Develops Internet software applications per the design from the Web architect.
Proactively identifies and implements methods of preventing technical problems that could cause disruption to business activities.
Monitors and ensures the continuing effectiveness of in-place systems.
Performs systems and business function analysis in support of business areas.
Performs unit testing to ensure effectiveness in meeting business needs.
General Web Development Requirements:
Must be able to analyze business functions, determine business needs, and translate into systems requirements appropriately.
Must be able to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement solutions.
Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively with others; write effectively and clearly with appropriate language.
Must be able to identify and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational skills needed.
Must work with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be able to be on-call during after-business-hours as needed.
Job-Specific Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field is required or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience in Object Oriented programming environment.
3+ years of full development life cycle experience.
2+ years experience using Java, JSP, and SQL.
1+ years experience using HTML, JavaScript, JDBC and XML.
Experience using J2EE architecture preferred.
Experience using STRUTS framework preferred.
Experience using WSAD and WebSphere preferred.
Experience with Windows NT, UNIX, and Visual Basic preferred.
