Description
Experience Level: 10 or more years technical background and 6+ years directly related web experience. Description: Acts as the highest-level technical expert on the development and implementation of highly complex, large-scale internet and intranet applications on diverse platforms, crossing multiple business lines. Uses expert knowledge of web technologies, including C++, Java, Java Script, HTML, CGI, XML, Perl, ASP, multimedia applications, database modeling tools and/or database interactions. Evaluates systems specifications for client area web site requirements and determines and implements the most efficient and cost-effective software/package solution. Provides leadership in researching and tracking new web technologies, developing service applications, and analyzing business requirements as they pertain to web-based systems. Oversees system quality assurance and consistency with installation and security policy and standards. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff.

Responsibilities for this role include: Define, develop, and implement complex internet and intranet applications, focusing in the areas of new development and production support as part of an existing development team Work with 5-10 Java application developers (team members and contractors) and collaborate with a senior architect and solution designer to effectively deliver projects, and enhancements. Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective. Work user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes Develop service applications, verifies program logic by preparing test data, tests and debug programs!


Participate in overall system testing and supports the implementation of the application into production environment Responsible for system quality assurance and consistency with installation and security policy and standards Research problems/fixes as reported by end users, and supports production activities with end users in second level support environment Respond to sizing requests, support requirements visualization, and address specifications for system changes Communicate effectively within the team to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget Comply with development standards and security policies set within the larger development organization Required Skills/Experience 7-10 years technical background in software development and 5-6 years direct experience with server-side web development using Java/J2EE Experience with development, testing, and deployment of web applications for external users Experience deploying applications for WebLogic v8/v9 in a clustered and highly available configuration Professional experience with Spring and Hibernate and a working knowledge of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework Some exposure to developing and/or supporting web services Experience with data modeling and database development with Oracle and/or SQL Server (specifically with respect to stored procedure development) Experience with JSP, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, and HTML Ability to work well individually and collaborate effectively with a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong problem-solving skills Preferred Skills/Experience Experience with Business Objects XI SDK and/or PDF generation from Java Experience with XML and related technologies Experience with developing Web Services Experience developing and/or supporting business intelligence applications Experience in a financial services user environment Experience with Fortify, Wily Introscope, CVS, and ClearCase, UML/ER modeling and Eclipse/Ant
