Description
  • Develop Web pages, templates, scripts and other processes that produce content and syndication for the client.
  • Follows tasks through a development life cycle (coding, testing, debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support) in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.
  • Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.
  • Participates in the analysis, definition, and scoping of efficient, cost effective application solutions.
  • Works with internal departments to provide associated deliverables required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments (eg business development, database development, Web designers, end-user training).

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

5 years experience developing Web sites for business purposes. Thorough understanding of the Web and Web browsers, their capabilities and their limitations. Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (both in general and with libraries such as prototype, scriptaculous and jQuery). Experience in Unix command line required. Strong skills required in critical thinking and analysis. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Attention to details, a must. Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

Development experience with PERL/CGI, Flash/Actionscript, content automation and source control a plus. Experience working in high-profile, high-volume Web publishing environments is a strong plus.
