10 or more years technical background and 6+ years directly related Web engineering experience.



Description:

Consults at the highest technical level with clients and IT management and staffs enterprise-wide on design, planning, integration, implementation, scalability, problem definition and resolution of Web and E-commerce engineering issues involving the interrelated demands of hardware, software, telecommunications, security and control. Also consults on tactical topics such as system interfaces, integration of E-commerce with core business systems, systems availability and response targets, customer service and support. Defines and resolves problems related to widely different platforms, hardware, software, coding structures, communication protocols. Works with vendors and common carriers to resolve Web-related issues. Resolves connectivity issues and workflow problems. Recommends scalable, advanced technologies and methods to integrate Web systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new Web enterprises or expanding existing business onto the Web. Consults with staff responsible for determining hardware requirements and communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes and response time and system availability targets. Keeps abreast of new technological developments. Conducts evaluations of new products and vendor proposals.



Infrastructure Architecture and Engineering is looking for a Web Engineer. IAE is part of Internet Services Group and is responsible for setting standards for OS and shared components used at Internet Banking. We are looking for someone who is a self starter who can work both on their own and as part of a larger team. Must be able to take a project and work it from start to completion, from gathering requirements to communicating and supporting the final product.



Responsibilities:

Will be the primary resource for standards and strategy for Tomcat, Spring and Java.

Interacts with ISG Production Support, Architects, other engineers, support staff and developers to create Standards documentation, roadmaps and best practices Provides ongoing updates and support of existing build standards to refine and continually improve our infrastructure Conducts studies of new and existing technologies Performs technology product evaluations and certification for ISD environments Assist with setting OS standards for Solaris and RH Linux Assist with setting standards for SUN and X86 hardware.

May provide 4th level platform support when called upon.



Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 5-7 years experience working with complex, highly available systems. Preferably in a Financial Services environment.

Extensive knowledge and experience with Tomcat application server, tc server and Java Must be able to set strategy and create roadmaps, as well as communicate this vision to other engineering and development teams.

Will need to work with Vendors to determine best practices, patch strategies and long term roadmaps.

Extensive knowledge and experience with RH Linux SUN OS and Hardware experience Experience with WebLogic Server. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across organizational lines Attention to detail and ability to follow-through on tasks often involving multiple team members Ability to think logically, excellent problem solving, decision making and analytical skills



Preferred Skills

Experience working in N1 and ClearCase

Understanding of UML and experience with Enterprise Architect Oracle DB Experience with MS SharePoint Experience with Solaris Containers, LDOMs and VMWare
