Job Opening : Web Server Engineer

Job Summary:
We are in search of a very positive and high energy Web Server Engineer. This position will be part of the Technical Services team and will be responsible for architecture, configuration, deployment and support of Java/J2EE applications using Websphere and other application servers. This is an Engineer position working with the Infrastructure team and is NOT a development position.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Architect, implement, and support JSPs, EJBs, servlets and other components in a J2EE web environment.

  • Work with Windows and UNIX architects to jointly design and implement a scalable web services application platform.

  • Performance monitoring, maintenance, upgrades and support for web application and HTTP servers.

  • Implement web application security through Tivoli Access Manager and Tivoli Identity Manager.

  • Problem resolution for the web environment and systems in use throughout the organization.

  • Act as a liaison between the IT Department, Application Programming, and internal business units to assure successful project implementations.

    Job Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of various technology architectures and business platforms.

  • Architect and implement J2EE and JSP application platforms.

  • Must have experience with one or more application servers i.e. JRun, JBoss, Websphere or WebLogic. (Websphere preferred.)

  • Experience in capacity planning, systems performance analysis and optimization in a distributed client/server environment.

  • Experience with web services (IIS 5/6, IBM HTTP server, Apache), load balancing, performance monitoring, security, certificates, and authentication schemas.

  • Some knowledge of Single Sign-On technologies, Tivoli preferred.

  • Experience managing distributed platforms (Windows and UNIX, AIX preferred).

  • Portal architecture expertise desirable.

  • SQL or Oracle experience with a relational database a plus.

  • This is not a development position, but some Java and JavaScript experience is desirable.

  • Ability to work independently and in collaborative environments. Interaction with technical peers and business units.

  • The ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.

  • Bachelor?s degree preferred.
