Description
Technisource is seeking an experienced Web Systems Engineer to join our client's Web Systems team for their IT Infrastructure division in Austin, TX.

This team is responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, testing and implementation of all internal and external facing Web systems.

Technologies used include Solaris, Linux, Windows, Apache, Oracle Application Server and SOA suite, Notes Domino, Vignette v7 Content Management, FAST Enterprise Search, and home-grown Web applications written in a Java/Oracle environment. The team is also responsible for Website performance and metrics related to traffic measurement, uptime, performance, scalability, growth as well as Web security. The team also supports internal customers from the programmer analyst community in migrating objects to production environments and acts as a gatekeeper during software release cycles.

This Web systems engineer will build and support the Internet and Intranet infrastructure used by all areas of the business and by external customers.

Primary responsibilities of the position include:
Supporting Web applications, users, and application developers
Providing support for Web systems worldwide for 24x7 availability to our client's customers
Troubleshoot problems across different technology stacks - such as networking, databases, Web/application Servers, operating systems and applications to identify and correct operational problems in Web systems
Proposing and implementing enhancements to improve Web system performance and availability
Adapting business requirements into system requirements and working as part of project teams to devise solutions to business goals
Creating and maintaining system security and integrity controls
Training domestic and international staff on system configuration, management, maintenance and
troubleshooting

Position Requirements
BBA or BS in MIS, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 2 years UNIX systems administration (Solaris and/or Linux preferred)
Minimum 1 year Web Server administration (Apache or other); strongly prefer J2EE Application Server
experience (OracleAS, WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss/Tomcat)
Intimate knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and strong familiarity with other Internet protocols.
Knowledge of other Web concepts such as FTP, Firewalls, and proxies
Scripting ability in Perl, Shell (esp bash), or other (python)
