Description
The successful candidate will be providing technical consultation and guidance to management, as well as support for installing, configuring, maintaining, and administering a maturing WebSphere Application Server (WAS) configuration on a Windows-based platform that will be used by various components across a large organization.

* Provide technical consultation and guidance to management on best practices in the utilization and configuration of WebSphere in a large, enterprise Datawarehouse environment.
* Conduct discussions with project stakeholders to identify elements essential for successful configuration of software based on stakeholder requirements and COTS specifications.
* Install, maintain, create an appropriately designed environment and administer WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Version 6.x/7.x and related components (eg Deployment Manager, etc.) in a Windows-based environment.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving WebSphere Application Server (WAS) for Windows configurations.
* Configure Microsoft Windows 2003 Servers, including patch management.
* Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Active Directory and Internet security configurations.
* Take ownership of the administration function after the design and build efforts are completed.

Required Technical Skills:
* 5+ years of relevant general Information Technology experience.
* Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking.
* Minimum of two years of IBM WebSphere Application Server systems administration experience is required including Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and administering WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Version 6.x/7.x and related components (eg Deployment Manager, etc) in a Windows-based environment.
* Minimum of two years of experience with Windows 2003, including in-depth experience with Microsoft Windows 2003 Server configurations including patch management.
* Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving complex issues involving WebSphere Application Server (WAS) for Windows configurations. Must have the capability to fix both small tactical and more strategic design issues.
* Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Active Directory and Internet security configurations.
* Thorough knowledge of application packaging and deployment process.
* Broad knowledge of Web Server technologies and interrelationships with application Servers.
* Ability to conduct discussions with project stakeholders to identify elements essential for successful configuration of software based on stakeholder requirements and COTS specifications

Preferred Technical Skills:
* Experience with J2EE preferred
* Insurance industry experience is a plus.
