WebSphere Application Server Administrator

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Four years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology, or administering or supervising staff who perform work in any of these information technology disciplines.
• Application deployment and rollout with solid understanding of the following concepts: HTML, XML, J2EE, Secure Sockets Layers, Secure Certificates, Load Balancing, Application/JVM Tuning, TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, Firewalls and multi-tiered architectures.
• Knowledge on Java & Web Application run time environment.
• Keeping the WebSphere Application Server environments (Development, Quality Assurance, Acceptance testing, Performance Stress and Production) in a healthy and fine-tuned state.
• 3-5 years experience with WebSphere Application Server administration/configuration and support.
• 3-5 years experience with z\OS.
• Experience with virtualization (VM )
• Working knowledge of HTML, XML, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, LDAP, Firewalls and multi-tiered architectures
• Experience with administration and implementation of WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus products.
• Excellent skills in performance tuning of WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP server for optimal performance based upon user load
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in various areas (start to finish)
• Experience in integrating WebSphere Servers with IIS, LDAP, DB2, SQL Servers, and .NET Servers.
• Experience with implementation of complex, mission-critical applications.
• Experience with administration and support of complex enterprise applications.
• Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate technical requirements with team members and to translate these into business options for management presentation.
• Ability to communicate technical procedures to customer IT staff in configuration and trouble-shooting activities.
• Ability to respond to inquiries in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
• Experience performing server side troubleshooting, migrations, upgrades, and applying patches.
• Experience with the application development lifecycle migration from test, development, quality assurance, pre-production and production environments.
• Experience with knowledge transfer and delivery of associated documentation in similar technical positions
• Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis in computer science, or related field.
