Description
Ajilon Consulting in Cincinnati has an immediate opening with our insurance services client in Fairfield for a Weblogic Administrator. This position will become permanent with the client after 6 months.
Weblogic/WebSphere Administrator with strong application/deployment background in either platform and who is able to configure clusters, deploy applications and perform administration tasks required to support them in Unix/Linux and DB2 environment.

Requirements: Primary responsibility of the role would assist in managing all aspects of the appserver environment that support application integration.
Key Objectives and responsibilities of this role include:
Participate in the planning and design of the appserver architecture to support CFC's goals of implementing Java Based Applications.
Defines common processes and procedures for the use of Weblogic/WebSphere.
Install, configure and administer BEA WebLogic Server 6.x, 7.x, 8.x and/or WebSphere 6.1 on AIX/Linux including multiple server instances and clusters, JDBC drivers.
Understands and implements NodeManager and/or Deployment Manager.
Understand and deploy various types of application packages including JAR, WAR and EAR files.
Design, implement, and manage server clustering and maintenance of connections pools and ejbs.
Provides technical expertise to functional teams on integration/configuration of peripheral infrastructure with Weblogic/WebSphere including permission management LDAP, Database, middleware and web servers.
Communicate effectively with functional teams and act as liaison during design, build, implementation, and testing of applications and peripheral infrastructure.
Implement solutions with Weblogic/WebSphere for stand-alone and clustered environments using provided HTTP Plugins for Apache and IIS.
Coordinate with Infrastructure team to configure load balancing hardware.
Coordinate with Shared services team to configure plug-in for IIS.
Display ownership of Weblogic/WebSphere end-to-end solution including implementation of HTTP proxy server, Database configuration, and OS specific configurations.
Assist development teams in activities such as load testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Work with team members to provide 7 x 24 production support.
Participate in stress testing of applications (occasionally).
Implements patches, updates, and fixes as suggested by external vendors and ISO.
Develops standards and best practices as defined by the vendor and by client's IT.
Utilizes a working knowledge of J2EE and Java development to troubleshoot technical issues (error messages, bugs with the software, availability ).
Liaisons with Development Services and to address issues related to the infrastructure
Develops utilities to automate repetitive tasks (i.e. backups, refreshes, failover)
Defines thresholds for monitoring various metrics of the application.
Creation of security roles and responsibilities and hand off of security administration to appropriate team
Research and manage the integration and interoperability of these tools in our environment
On-call 24 x 7 to address production issues related to the tool

Responds to alerts that are generated, performs corrective action as necessary.
Participates in daily troubleshooting of technical issues with the tool (error messages, bugs with the software, availability ).
Continues to refine/update utilities that have been developed to automate repetitive tasks (i.e. backups, refreshes, application failover)
Applies application patches, updates, and fixes as suggested by external vendors and as required by the business
Updates system documentation.
