Application Support and Configuration Management Administrator

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, Configuration, Administration and Performance tuning of WebLogic Servers and clusters.
  • Experience in deploying applications in Domain and clustered environments.
  • Apply patches and maintain the WebLogic servers.
  • Experience in configuring Node manager to administer the Managed servers.
  • Experience in performance tuning of JVM heap size, garbage collections, Java stack and Native thread and production performance.
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues like server hang, application deadlock, out of memory and high CPU.
  • Troubleshooting routine product issues independently (Incident Tracking and Resolution).
  • Develop, facilitate and maintain best of breed product support tools including run books, monitoring, and knowledge bases to aid in the product support process.
  • Act as the primary business liaison to the business segment, through facilitating communication between Development, QA, Product Management, Technical Operations and Segment business leaders on new product releases, technical outages, and routine maintenances (hosting moves).
  • Effective communication and presentation to key business stakeholders are instrumental.
  • Ability to work on own to complete tasks or projects with little or no supervision.
    Required Skills:
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in WebLogic administration.
  • UNIX proficiency (Linux and/or Solaris)
  • WebLogic Application Server (version 8.x, 9.x and 10.x)
  • Scripting ability (bash, ksh, perl, etc?)
  • J2EE application support
  • Apache web server support
  • Apache ANT
  • Familiarity with Messaging, Load balancer, BIG-IP
    Nice to haves:
  • PERL
  • Databases – Oracle / DB2
  • JBoss
  • Installing SSL certificates
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity in FTP, SFTP, SSH, Telnet, trace, BIG IP, Firewall and general Network components at the level to troubleshoot any problem
