Description
Robert half technology is looking for a Sr.Websphere Portal Developer for one of our clients in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will develop, expand, and support the enterprise portal implementation and ongoing maintenance. S/he will provide expertise in the functional layout and development of various Portal business applications and reporting needs.Analyze, design and validate system requirements for new and/or existing systems with multiple interfaces and/or across multiple platforms, identify/review system design alternatives and implement/review the appropriate technical design.Support the integration, customization and maintenance of new applications into the Portal environment. Recommend vendor hardware and software solutions, and evaluate vendor software when appropriate.Act as technical/team lead. Participate in design and code reviews. Develop and execute schedules and/or plans for projects or parts of projects and provide input on necessary resources for effective project execution. Determine technical resource needs, prepare project status reports, and inform management of issues or problems as necessary.Contribute to process improvements in methodology, technical architecture, and organizational practices around portal. Help set user interface standards.Participate in rotational, after-hours support to ensure that customer service levels are met. Identify the cause and impact of production problems, interact with IT staff and customers, and escalate as necessary.df-tc

Experience/Skills
Qualifications:4+ years of demonstrated experience in IBM Websphere Portal development (Websphere 6.x preferred), including hands-on JSP, Java applets/portlets (JSR-168 standards), portal framework (skins, layouts, shells, themes), and familiarity with LDAP.Development experience with web content management, web document management, forms, content tagging, search, personalization and Portlet Factory.2+ years of experience with IBM Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools, web services and version control systems. Familiarity with Ant scripts, build automation and deployment tools is a plus.Candidate must have strong planning, project management, problem solving/troubleshooting, analysis, design, and testing skills.Demonstrated ability to lead design/development and drive the expansion of portal implementation.
