- Wind turbine fleet support engineer focused on wind turbine electrical systems such as power conversion and motor drive systems.

- Execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) projects to maximize wind turbine safety, improve wind turbine fleet reliability & performance, reduce wind turbine fault rate, and reduce warranty costs.

- Apply expertise in power conversion, motor drive systems, generators, and/or 3-phase electrical systems.

- Work closely with core engineering, system engineering, product service, parts & maintenance, and sourcing teams to identify root cause, develop solutions, test, and validate corrective actions.

- Support reporting of RCA status to internal GE leadership & customers.

- Utilize GE processes for technical issue resolution and RCA execution, design change implementation, and documentation.

- Travel to wind farm sites for root cause analysis, testing, and validation.
Qualifications

- BS degree in electrical engineering.

- 1+ years academic or professional experience in power conversion, motor drive systems, or generators.

Desired

- EEDP Graduate.

- Completion of FoL, Impact, Teardown training.

- Progress toward an Engineering Master's Degree and / or ACE certificate.

- Wind turbine or power generation equipment familiarity.

- Product service or field experience.

- Green Belt or Black Belt certification (GE employees only).

- MS degree in engineering.

- Professional engineering experience.

- German language knowledge or proficiency.

- Background in failure mechanisms.

- Root cause failure analysis experience.

- Project management approach (planning, timeliness, teaming).

- Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
General

For EEDP off-program candidates, this role will accommodate progress toward the completion of an Engineering Master's Degree and / or C-course Project. Limited travel / overtime required. One hour per week per credit hour (max 6 hours per week) can be vouchered.
