Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Windows Server Engineer on a CONTRACT - opportunity with a leading company in Atlanta

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Technical skills include: Windows 2003 server installation, monitoring, tuning, administration, security hardening, and troubleshooting for both Server based hardware and software (Experience with Server 2008 also valuable)
Perform hardware/software requirements identification and evaluations.
Experience with networking technologies (routing, switching, TCP/IP, and layer 4 to 7 protocols) that includes integration and support for VLANs, Firewalls, etc.
Implement disaster recovery procedures, service outage workarounds, and implement system safeguards (patching, anti-virus, vulnerability management, etc).
Work both in a local (on-site) environment, but also work within the context of a Remote/Virtual team.

3 to 5 years direct experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server technologies design and support. The right candidate would be considered senior level with a high degree of professionalism and excellent documentation skills. Should be a self-starter that does not require a significant amount of guidance.

Ideal candidates possess the following:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; leadership and self-management qualities; be customer service and results-oriented; both develop and follow best practices that includes process-driven focus; identify and research better and more effective ways to resolve problems; buy into a vision based on customer value; demonstrate initiative and adaptability. Consultative experience working with business/application owners to help design and/or implement solutions. Specific work experience with virtual/remote teams is very helpful. Knowledge of remote support technologies specific to the management of Windows Server systems. Experience in implementation and supporting of VMware and server consolidation technologies is desirable. Direct experience in leading/implementing a server consolidation effort is very desirable. Experience with storage technologies such as Fibre-channel, iSCSI, SANS, NAS. Experience with the installation, configure, and deployment of Citrix technologies is very helpful. Thorough understanding of ITIL is highly desirable. Please note that the incumbent will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation and participate in 'after-hours' activities (such as system maintenance) on a periodic basis.df-tc
