May perform one or more of the following:
Designs and implements system requirements for customers and analyzes existing systems.
Installs and maintains mainframe, midrange, or NT operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance.
Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
Develops, tests, installs, and modifies computer software for operating systems, compilers, utilities, multiprogramming, and telecommunications systems.
Develops and installs programs for large-scale or high volume transactions requiring IBM/MVS or similar mainframe processing.
Develops and installs programs to support general business applications.
Develops programs on midrange computers such as the IBM AS/400 or UNIX based mini/midrange computers.
Evaluates and installs database management systems.
Plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. All other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

Strong technical working knowledge and hands-on experience at medium to large corporate environments, including:

  • Hands-on enterprise technical experience and Windows 2000 and Windows 2003
  • Hands on Experience with AD Group Policy
  • Experience with Citrix Presentation server 4.0 a plus
  • Hands on technical experience with Microsoft Terminal Server 2003
  • Document standard operating procedure for management and use of Disaster Recovery to restore Windows 2003 servers
  • Windows 2003 proactive maintenance using enterprise monitoring tools
  • Experience in enterprise datacenter experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft, VMWare and Citrix patching
  • VMWare ESX 3.x experience and exposure preferred
  • Ability to be accessible and available for on call responsibility and support
  • Provide appropriate information and recommendations to resolve problems on behalf of the customer
  • Manage windows server deployment and migration efforts (P2V and P2P migrations)
  • Understanding of SAN technologies
  • Provide Enhancement & proposal upgrades recommendation
  • Strong ability to transfer knowledge and experiences to other technicians
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to define an document practices and procedures consistently and accurately
  • Plan and lead project installations

    Education: MIS, CS or Engineering or equivalent 5 years experience; MCSE or MCSA and/or Citrix\VMware Certification preferred
