We have an immediate need for an XML Database Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client, a faith-based organization headquartered in Salt Lake City, is looking for an XML Database Administrator

Description
Take a leading role in helping the organization publish its message to the world. Join the enterprise information management team to manage XML content stored in MarkLogic XML content server and Oracle database. Work with application developers to query, transform, repurpose, enrich, and mine XML in a wide variety of leading-edge content applications.

General

Raise the bar in defining and achieving excellence.
Provide technical leadership for strategic use of XML, XQuery, and XML content stores.
Provide technical leadership for strategic enterprise Business Intelligence initiatives.
Ensure technical solutions leverage industry best practices for security, internationalization, performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, supportability, business continuity, and business agility.
Stay current on technologies, technology trends and directions, and best practices.
Evaluate potential technologies for use within the enterprise.

Specific

Administer MarkLogic XML Content Servers
Ensure MarkLogic service level agreements are met concerning backup, availability, performance, and security in production, stage, test, and development environments.
Work with developers
Design and optimize XML schemas, XQueries, indexes, entity extraction, search strategies, SVM classes, lexicons, and thesauri for use in MarkLogic XML Content Server.
Design ETL jobs to transform XML for the Datawarehouse and other data integration projects.
Ensure high quality software by doing requirement analysis, data modeling, software design, software coding, design and code reviews, documentation, and implementation of methodologies.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with database development, administration and modeling.
Experience with XML, XHTML, XQuery, SQL, XSLT, DTD, and XML schema.
Experience with XML markup: structural markup, semantic markup, and entity markup.
Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java and C#.
Experience speaking more than one language.
Experience with linguistics, lexicons, thesauri, full-text indexing, entity extraction, business intelligence, and document management.
Experience developing using Office Open XML, particularly Microsoft Word 2007 XML and Excel 2007 XML.
Experience using XML editors such as oXygen, XMLSpy, and XMetaL.
Experience using the MarkLogic XML Content Server.
Experience using Business Object Text Analytics.
B.S. in Computer Science.
Position will be initially located in Salt Lake City, but will relocate to Riverton, UT after Q2 of 2009.
