Information Systems at Edward Jones is seeking a highly specialized, responsible individual to fill an opening for a system administrator. This person is responsible for the maintenance and administration of systems and applications loaded in the Edward Jones home- and branch-office environments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This person is also responsible for hardware systems configuration, software installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all systems in the
U.S., U.K., and Canada. Two or more years of extensive business work experience and certification is preferred. An associate's or bachelor's degree in business, MIS, computer science or a related field is preferred. Responsibilities:
-Maintain 99.9 percent availability for responsible systems (either Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 and XP operating systems).
-Work with system tuning, monitoring and reporting.
-Handle packaging, implementing, maintaining, and licensing OS software (firmware upgrades, service packs, data updates).
-Manage configurations, implementation, and maintenance of hardware (servers, workstations, laptops, work-at-home, printers, hand-held devices, and other related peripherals).
-Monitor department Service Center tickets to ensure they do not become delinquent.
-Answer off-hour support pages consistently within 15 minutes by the primary or secondary support administrator.

Requirements:
-Associate's degree in business, MIS, or computer science or equivalent experience
-Microsoft Certification preferred
-Two or more years extensive business work experience with Window XP is a requirement and Internet Explorer support experience is preferred
-Hands-on test execution experience (understanding of test processes and techniques)
-Hardware configuration, installation, and maintenance experience
-Software packaging, installation, maintenance, and licensing experience
-Development of test cases/procedures and training documentation
-MS Win2000 and Active Directory business work experience
-Scripting languages and tools experience
-Programming languages (C++, .net, HTML, Perl Scripting)
-Command line and remote administration
-Strong problem solving and root cause analysis
-Excellent organizational skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to work in a team environment or as an individual contributor
