Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for a Data Base Administrator in our Marietta, GA office.

This position is within the Technology Group of Aon eSolutions. This group offers both the benefits of a large organization and the work environment of a small company. The technology group started as an independent company and was recently acquired by Aon. The environment is highly driven, but in a suburban setting without the bureaucracy found in a large corporate office. The Technology Group supports Aon eSolutions and clients staff worldwide

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain, monitor and tune production databases. This includes providing feedback to development staff of optimizations that can be made to SQL and PL/SQL. This position will be on-call and will be notified by automated monitoring system as well as hands-on monitoring. This position will be responsible for actively responding to issues in real-time and involving appropriate people to ensure resolution.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
?Experience with automating processes via shell scripting or other techniques
?Strong written and verbal communication skills
?Ability to respond quickly and calmly to and take ownership of critical incidents

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
?5+ years experience with administration and tuning of production Oracle database systems running on Linux or Unix
?Experience with complex (>8kb) SQL analysis and tuning
?Senior level experience in tuning Oracle 9i and 10g databases required
?Experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Replication/Failover technologies
?Experience with support of production databases with high uptime requirements
?Experience with PL/SQL programming

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
