Description
Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for sales efforts of MSI products and services within the IBM eServer zSeries brand unit. Acts as primary representative of MSI zSeries to the client in the attainment of revenue, expense, profit, and client satisfaction objectives. Develops and plans business strategies to meet the required sales objectives. Responsible for identifying all business opportunities within the brand unit and partnering with client executives, system engineers, other MSI team members and partners (IBM) to deliver complete solutions and satisfy client expectations.

Essential Job Duties:
1. Identifies opportunities and develops MSI solution strategies, particularly zSeries services offerings. Manages and monitors many opportunities of varying complexities. Works with resource coordinators/managers to ensure that appropriate quantity and quality of technical and services resources are deployed. Develops accordingly a long-term business relationship with the clients executive management team and key decision-makers providing total solutions to the client business needs.
2. Plans and conducts complex negotiations between MSI and client and other party which results in appropriate and often long-term agreements and commitments.
3. Anticipates future client problems in account planning, industry and information technology trends and develops realistic visions and strategies based on risk management plans.
4. Participates in industry and business related organizations, societies, conferences and other client-related activities to maintain professional credibility and leadership. Leads by example and demonstrates the highest level of teamwork and professional qualities in all activities to enhance MSIs position in the marketplace.
5. Retains ultimate responsibility for high customer satisfaction. Results include increase in partnerships with and acquisitions from MSI and client willingness to influence others to be partners with MSI. Leverages channels of distribution and resources across the enterprise geographically to maintain and improve customer satisfaction and maximize revenue and profit.
6. Forecasts tactical and strategic business opportunities. 7. May perform other related duties as required and assigned.


Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other technical field preferred and/or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of zSeries-S/390 product with minimum of 5 years sales experience.
IBM zSeries Sales Certification preferred.
Experience with IBM marketing channels and procedures preferred.
Ability to identify product and services opportunities and effectively articulate and sell MSI Services offerings to the client.
Ability to manage multiple sales transactions.
Proven ability to sell a product/service in a competitive environment.
Skills in financial analysis and cost of computing calculations to include leasing.
Ability to travel a minimum of 5-10 days/month.df-tc
